History of Our Parish
In the spring of 1982, the then Bishop of Lublin, Boleslaw Pylak, received a written promise from the Lublin Voivode, Tadeusz Wilk, to build sacred buildings in Czuby – a new district of Lublin then inhabited by about 6,000 people.
The construction work and the organization of the pastoral center were entrusted to priest Ryszard Jurak, the former parish priest from Grabówki. Priest Leszek Kuna was assigned as a curate to assist him.
Relics in Our Church
In the Church of the Holy Family, two relics of Saint John Paul II are kept: the chasuble in which he celebrated Holy Mass during his visit to the parish on August 9, 1987. The Holy Father brought the chasuble with him and donated it to the parish after the Mass. It is displayed for pilgrims in a showcase in the church, next to the kneeler in front of the image of John Paul II. The second relic is the blood of Saint John Paul II. The church also houses relics of Saint Padre Pio, donated to the parish by Bishop Ryszard Karpiński.
Chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help
On August 22, 2018, the chapel of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament was consecrated. It began with a Holy Mass presided over by Archbishop Stanisław Budzik. The chapel has been renovated and serves the daily prayer of the faithful before the Eucharistic Christ.
The faithful and guests take advantage of this opportunity. This is evidenced by their presence at adoration. To enter the chapel, you must first go to the main doors of the church. Once inside, turn left to reach the chapel of adoration through the side aisle.
We cordially invite You to the all-night adoration from Thursday to Friday.
